Dordt Discovery Days

So I have just come from a bizarre week of teaching at Dordt Discovery Days. It was really fun for some reason. I think it was that junior high age that never gets down----just everything looks rosy. I taught a painting class of 14 girls. God really anointed those girls. Thier art was unexpectedly phenomenal. I mean for their age and the type of art they have been required to do (tight, stiff, mechanical, for a grade) they were able to break free from that and express.

The first day we didn't paint at all....but we worshiped and danced and sang together. For me it was more about the communication of God's word and heart, than it was about techniques and paint brushes. There was a freedom already from the start. We have danced together in the BJ Haan.....now we paint and share and communicate God next door to a stranger and it somehow seemed normal.

They really suprised me.....thier bright eyes and open heart for the truth. Somehow they knew they were on to something when they let thier minds dig through the imagination room and find a trinket of lovely aliveness to soak in. What a treasure chest of ideas they have!

I will blog some pictures soon.

More to come.

Looking for my VISA

As I look back I see that the last week has proved amazing and challenging all in one. The Arts for Missions event was completed and I was able to celebrate with the close friends I have made this year in Orange City. There were generous givings and I have been blessed by the completion of my time in Iowa. Although my VISA has not proved present. I still believe it is God's will that I go .....so I will wait. Isn't it the best challenge to wait on the Lord---and on our knees we will see his mercy. That is what I wait for.

Looking for my VISA turns into looking for GOD!

Thanks for pointing yourself out God. It helps me.
