Kansas City Trip

"Mmmm...girl"

Ang and Brandon in the T-ruck

Our visit to IHOP

Feb 8-10 I drove down to Kansas City....well actually Oletha, KS to stay with my friend Angie and her new husband Brandon. They welcomed my dad and me to their home....and we had a hoot of a time. Dad was at a worship conference all the while Ang and I hung around and chatted and drove about finding adventure around Kansas City. Our evenings consisted of playing my favorite card game: Canadian Salad. THere was a hip game of UNO Blast too!!

I love my dad because he gets a visual kick out of black women and thier 'shaniqua' attitudes. He laughs when he sees it on TV and he just laughs when we try to impersonate it. I have heard his language become more and more ghetto as the year has progressed. Saying things like.."Girl, you dont know what is going on. Hmmm hmm."

Ang and I both had never been to IHOP and found the Friday afternoon to do this. We drove over there and just walked in. There was a band playing and in 2 hour increments there is singing and worship....and then the band switches out and before you even notice there is more worship....just with a seamless change over. So if you were there all day...you could pray and worship for 24/7. We had a great moment when talking with the front desk lady....and saying "Where can we find Trisha?" Like she would know. and she did not.....but she gave us some suggestions....the intern cafe, the big meeting tonight.... We looked where we could and then when almost giving up we stood in the coffee shop and warmed up and I look to my left and there she was! Trisha (a friend of Angies sister Laurie from UNI) was working the till. What grace! So we got to chat and spend some time with her too.

I really discovered that I am totally inspired by worship and created to do so.
